The target population of the Adult Education Center (AEC) is any Nebraska resident, past the age of 21, who previously participated in credits through an approved high school, but has not earned a high school diploma and is no longer eligible to access public education.
AEC does not discriminate on the basis of sex, disability, race, color, religion, veteran status, national or ethnic origin, age, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition, or other protected status in its programs and activities. The AEC provides a challenging curriculum based on Nebraska’s College and Career Ready Standards and graduation requirements leading students on a pathway to graduation with a regular high school diploma granted through the NE Rule 14 approved, Omaha Street School.
Coursework is hybrid in nature. Some learning is through computer-based modules, while other offerings include direct instruction with certified teachers or individually-guided tutoring. Direct Instruction and tutorial support will take place at the Goodwill Headquarters located at 4805 North 72nd Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
